Former pitcher Frank Castillo dies
PHOENIX, UNITED STATES (30/JUL/2013.) - Former Major League pitcher, the Hispanic Frank Castle, drowned while swimming in a lake near Phoenix, Arizona, authorities confirmed.
Castle and a friend were walking in the Bartlett Lake by boat on Sunday, according to a statement from the Office of the Maricopa County Sheriff. Castillo went into the water to go swimming and did not return to the surface.
Agents and divers of the Sheriff's Office searched the area and located the body Monday afternoon, said the statement.
Castillo, 44, a native of El Paso, Texas, made his major league debut in 1991.
Throughout his career he played for the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins.
